It ‘s 8 March 2011 and International Womens Day.
Like some write or say: “it’s a day to celebrate!”
But I wonder; “can women really?”
How can I celebrate when I look around and see/ hear and read of women living in relations and conditions where respect seems to be an attitude unknown?
There are many family relations where women do not receive the proper acknowledgement of others like their father, brother, cousin or nephew. I find this lack in other forms of relations too; in man-wife relations, children - mother, working relations. But I see it too among women themselves and still there are many women who are not able to acknowledge themselves.
Let’s use this International Womens Day as a wake-up call too.
Wake up women, wake up ladies!
You have so many possibilities! Open your eyes , your mind and discover, learn, make use of them.
Stand up and acknowledge you deserve respect and other forms of love.
Do not allow others to take away your love, (natural) strength and power. Do not give it away when it leaves you drained and you’re not able to replenish.
Wake up and start to celebrate you!
