thanks

I take a sip of water
I am grateful
I take a sip of food
I am grateful
I take a sip of joy
I am grateful
I take a sip of trust
I am grateful
I take a sip of sadness
I am grateful
I take a sip of responsibility
I am grateful
I take a sip of life

I read on FB : ‘A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you’.

And immediately I felt the need to react as I can’t agree.
Although I reacted on Facebook as well I think it's important to write my reaction on my blog too

To me this saying lays the responsibility of man’s behavior solemnly in the hands of a woman.
In a direct man-woman relationship there a two people involved.
Both have their share in what’s going on.
In a functional relationship both partners feel responsible to invest in each other, in  house and family, both tolerate differences, both learn means of communication, both develop the willpower to consult each other, both are giving and receiving partners and each one supports the other.
In order to have such a relationship it takes the willingness and effort to look at oneself first.
It takes guts to dare to look inside and to acknowledge aspects one is not keen on to notice.
It takes love for oneself to accept that we are who we are and not who we think or would like to be .
It takes perseverance to question oneself as we all are influenced by thoughts, feelings and behavior of others too.
It takes love and courage to listen to your partner (and others)too and  to admit certain things need change.

I can only say: Treat the other person the way you like to be treated yourself.

I thought I was drowning

My thoughts behave like water. They  stream everywhere.
At times they behave like waves  and roll into shore soft and gentle.
Recently they had enormous force.
They tugged at the shore of my consciousness and influenced my subconscious.
I did not notice their affect and developed thoughts that I had to keep on swimming.
I was getting tired, oh so tired.
I developed emotions of fear and thoughts of drowning.
But as water keeps on moving so did my thoughts.
I asked help from Spirit world and advice from people I trusted.
I looked inside and faced what I encountered.
Now I am swimming but not drowning.
I will reach the shore once more!

Do we know what water can do?

Water has memory.

There are interesting stories regarding this topic on You Tube.
See:

10 parts on Water Science Documentary 2008

And 5 titled "What we know is a drop".

No wonder we consider water to be an important symbol to be used while 'talking' about consciousness.
Treat both well as they are necessary items to life!

Message

Last week, while in the stream of meditation, my guidance system told me that we should listen to the lady of Guadalupe.

As I had never heard of this name I looked it up on the net.
On Wikipedia I found the following:
According to tradition, Juan Diego, a simple indigenous peasant, saw a vision of a young woman on December 9, 1531. While he was on the hill in the desert of Tepeyac near Mexico City, the lady told him to build a church exactly on the spot where they were standing. He told the local bishop, who asked for some proof. He went back and saw the vision again. He told the lady that the bishop wanted proof, and she said "Bring the roses behind you." When he looked behind, he saw a bunch of roses growing. He cut the roses, placed them in his poncho and returned to the bishop. When he arrived to the bishop, he said he had brought proof. When he opened his poncho, instead of roses there was a picture of the young lady in the vision. Today, the icon is displayed in the Basilica of Guadalupe nearby, one of the most visited Catholic shrines in the world.
On www.sancta.org I found more interesting details regarding this story.
I am no Catholic and I do not feel no urge to convert so I wondered why I was pointed to the lady and her story.

Suddenly I realized  J
Keep your heart open and listen what is being 'said'.
Be sincere and do what is needed.
Trust, persevere and  result will manifest itself.

International Womens Day

It ‘s 8 March 2011 and International Womens Day.

Like some write or say: “it’s a day to celebrate!”
But I wonder; “can women  really?”
How can I celebrate when I look around and see/ hear and read of  women living in relations and conditions where respect seems to be an attitude unknown?
There are many family relations where women do not receive the proper acknowledgement of others like their father, brother, cousin or nephew.   I find this lack in other forms of relations too; in man-wife  relations, children - mother, working relations. But I see it too among women themselves and  still there are many women who are not able to acknowledge themselves.

Let’s use this International Womens Day as a wake-up call too.
Wake up women, wake up ladies!
You have so many possibilities! Open your eyes , your mind and discover, learn, make use  of them.
Stand up and acknowledge you deserve respect and other forms of love.
Do not allow others to take away your  love, (natural) strength and power. Do not give it away when it leaves you drained and you’re not able to replenish.
Wake up  and start to celebrate you!

Water helps you along at, during and after Carnival too!

Carnival is a festival traditionally held in Roman Catholic and, to a lesser extent, Eastern Orthodox societies. Protestant areas usually do not have carnival celebrations or have modified traditions.
Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party and  marks an overturning of daily life.

While feasting , it can happen that alcohol intake will influence the physical state too much  and the next morning you awake with a hang-over.
There’s no official remedy for an hang-over but I received tips that the the following will help you to get along.

Breakfast:
Lots and lots of water.
Toasted bread and honey.
Boiled egg with a pinch of salt (helps your energy level)
Camomille tea (to calm your stomach)
Kiwi  ( the sugars activate digestion of alcohol)

Lunch:
Water
Chicken soup with noodles
Gherkins and smoked meat
Appel

Dinner:
Water
Salade with smoked salmon and leguminous
Asperges with smoked ham
Multigrain bread with pesto or pate

Alaaf, alaaf, alaaf!!!
(Dutch carnival greeting)
