What is spirituality?

Spirituality is the concept of an ultimate or an alleged immaterial reality; an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his/her being; or the "deepest values and meanings by which people live.
 Author: Wikipedia.

Many people express spirituality in different ways.
For some, it's about participating in organized religion: going to church, synagogue, a mosque, etc.
For others, it's more personal. Some people get in touch with their spirituality through quiet reflection, private prayer, yoga, meditation and others through movement like dance or walks.

To me spirituality has many forms and I find it in life, through love, awareness and contemplation.
I find it in all forms of life, in the world, in nature, in the universe.
I find it in written words, through words spoken, in dreams and visions, in actions and reactions.
I find it in the way I think, feel, in what I sense, see, create and do.

Spirituality too is about questions and answers. Questions we ask ourselves like "what is my intention? When I think, feel or do this,  do I or will I harm myself?  Do I harm others? Will I still be able to look myself in the eyes?  What do I see when I look at others? What is the message? "
Asking  these questions (and others) and through their answers we discover and broaden our horizon.
We can learn and develop.
Here we should be alert as we have the tendency  that once we believe in something, we’ll try to explain away anything that conflicts with it  (our cognitive dissonance).
We are individuals and the way we express our spirituality can differ.
But when individuals are willing they can join hands.
To me that too is a form of spirituality.
What is spirituality to you?

It’s nonsense

It is what it is
says Love

It’s misfortune
says calculation
It’s pain only
says fear
It’s future less
says insight
It is what it is
says Love

It’s ridiculous
says pride
It’s frivolous

It’s impossible

Another message of Maria

Love and harmony are hard to come by for those who attach themselves to their thoughts.
Acceptance of what is, will guide and protect you from harm.
Instead it will bring out your abilities and activates you to use all your resources.
Worries are for the poor of heart; your love source is present.
Find joy and laughter in the small things you encounter and experience.
Be aware of your strength!
Allow yourself our support.
The time is ripe.
The time has come for love to show.
It is important for you all to understand this.
Every aspect of your inner self understands and knowledges this, but you are kept behind due to your overload of thoughts.
Release them.
Enter the power of your heart and join us in caring, compassion and commitment.
Be warned my precious fellows, know your power is imense when released.
Open your hearts, dim your thoughts and tune in to combine hearth, soul and mind.
Let your light shine!

In peace.
M

A message

During meditation the following came into my consciousness.
“Greetings ye wife of women Maria * bringing a message for thou on earth.
This time brings divorce or seperation for many. Relations fall apart; men and women must revise their position.
When not in harmony it brings sadness and lack of understanding.
May it be clear this is a learning period and they may realise they are stepping upon a new path of learning.
Grace they’ll find within themselves. They may lovingly view themselves and others.
In dignity they may be and know their qualities.
No longer they need to lean on others but may stand in inner power. In confidence they may care.
Be aware of intolerance what stands in progress way.
When the lesson has been learned they may manifest their forgiveness and acceptance in further relations.”

I believe

I believe I can decide to give meaning to my life or not.
I believe I create beliefs and behavior to that accord.
I believe I am spirit living a human life.
I believe as spirit I have chosen to develop, to progress via learning experiences and that’s why I enrolled in this school called human life.
I believe to live life to the fullest I needed and need experiences to teach me what and how to do.
I believe there is no failure, there are discoveries only to show me what works and what does not.
I believe that as spiritual human being I receive all kinds of internal and external signals to make me aware of my feelings and thoughts, my abilities and my choices.
I believe I am multidimensional and operate cosmically & terrestrially in many different formats of reality within the eternal 'Now'.
I believe time is a purposed illusion and there is a constant subconscious communication between my multi-selves.
I believe each thought, each sensation has a magnetic frequency.
I believe the resonant of these thought/feeling frequencies will attract  similar vibrations and the more attention & focus I give the more powerful  it becomes.
I believe this applies to negative and positive thoughts and my energy (auric) field will vibrate accordingly.
I believe I cannot just ignore or wish away my lessons to develop, to evolve.
I believe others are here to help me understand how I can act and react.
I believe others teach me by showing how they deal with their experiences.
I believe in order for me to progress I have to accept the invitation I get from life and to face the lessons offered.
I believe I do not have to like every experience but until a lesson is faced it will repeat itself in one form or another over and over again, until it is completed and mastered.
I believe by accepting the invite I can create the energy needed to learn.
I believe whenever I seek to avoid the responsibility for my own actions, I generally do so by attempting to give that responsibility, that 'blame', to some other individual, group or cause.
I believe that I in that process of shifting blame, unconsciously give away my power and that I take away the ownership that allows me to 're-create'.
I believe the closer I come to the light, the more I get to see what is hidden in the dark.
And if I fear the dark? I believe the more I learn to accept my responsibility the more strength I develop to look my fear into the eyes.
I believe I give meaning to my life.

The lesson of a butterfly

Today I was looking into an old diary of mine and re-discovered this little story named  ‘the lesson  of a butterfly’.

One sunny day a man is sitting on a bench in a park.
He sits there staring at the soil and sees a cocoon.

Suddenly there is a movement and a tiny opening appears.
The man becomes interested and notices inside there is a butterfly struggling to open the cocoon.

Hour after hour passes by and all at once the movement stops. It seems like the butterfly is giving in. It seems like it cannot go on any longer.

The man decides to help the butterfly and opens up the cocoon some more.

Now the hole is large enough for the butterfly to come out. But it’s body is small and shriveled up; it’s wings rolled up.

The man keeps on looking as he expects the butterfly to become strong, to open up his wings and to support its body.

Nothing happens.

After a while the butterfly walks about, its body weak.  It does not take long and the movement stops; its life has gone.

What the man with the best of his intentions did not realize was he stopped a natural process. The restriction of the cocoon and the fight of the butterfly were nature’s way of making sure liquid was pushed from the body to the wings. The butterfly needed the struggle to optimize its strength. It was nature’s way to activate the butterfly to become ready to fulfill its life to the fullest.

Like the butterfly we too need our own obstacles to test our strength.
We too need a chance to discover our possibilities to use our wings.
We too get opportunities to fly in victory.

Ten years have passed since I wrote in that diary. Looking back in time I can say life provided me with some obstacles and yes they did help me to become aware of my inner strength.

I do hope if obstacles come onto your path you decide to see them as opportunities too. Have a safe flight!
